Art in the Alley Joins Hermantown Area Chamber

Hermantown, MN – The Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes newest member Art in the Alley. The women’s clothing boutique, which includes repurposed and up-cycled items along with whimsical pop-art, was first opened by co-owners and artists, Tami LaPole Edmunds and husband, Dan in 2008.

The first store was located in Superior’s historic old city hall at Broadway and Hammond. The store name was inspired by Dan’s kiln set up outside the building near the alley. In 2012 they moved the store from Superior to downtown Duluth.

In 2015 Art in the Alley began its Miller Hill Mall adventure. The 800 square foot space was the perfect place to recreate a mini version of their downtown store, quickly recognized by the vibrant colors on the walls.

On June 9th The Hermantown Area Chamber, Chamber Ambassador Members, and Miller Hill Mall staff joined Art in the Alley for a ribbon cutting celebrating their first year at Miller Hill Mall. The boutique has recently renewed their lease, making what was once considered a one-year pop-up store now become a long-term tenant of Miller Hill Mall.
