Hermantown, MN – The Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award recipient.

Michelle Maki was named as the 2017 Volunteer of the Year. Maki, a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director, is a Board Member and an Ambassador for the Hermantown Area Chamber as well as serves in her community as a member of the Twin Ports Mothers of Multiples and as a member of the Duluth Area Professionals Chapter of BNI.

Hermantown, MN – The Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce has announced three newly elected board members for the upcoming year. The new board members were voted on at the October Board of Directors Meeting.

The three new board members include:

Shawn Crowser – Centricity Credit Union

Todd Mell – LHB

Kevin Peterson – Duluth Area Family YMCA

The chamber is also partnering with Hermantown High School, bringing on Senior Parth Mishra to sit on the 2018 board as an Associate Director.

Hermantown Marketplace District Looks to Expand

HERMANTOWN, Minn. – The city of Hermantown is expanding their marketplace area near Haines Road and Miller Trunk Highway.

City officials unveiled a new Hermantown Marketplace sign in front of the Kwik Trip at Haines Road and Maple Grove Road.

They hope highlighting the area will get more businesses to move to Hermantown in the coming years.

“We’ve had a really good start with all the existing businesses that we’ve had in the marketplace and just hoping to expand on that in the years to come,” said Hermantown Community Development Director Eric Johnson.
